Welcome to Erin Killian Pottery

Welcome to Erin Killian Pottery! I bought this url (erinkillian.com) more than 20 years ago and I felt like it was time to use it. I have been thinking about having my own site for while, but it always felt insurmountable to spend time on it. With three young boys, I was always called in too many directions. Last week, my husband was in Oahu, Hawaii, for work, and I had two full days to myself. I went to a yoga class, I went on a hike, I went to the beach. And, I worked on this site. And I'm thrilled I can finally share it with you. 

If you been on this journey with me for a long time, thank you. Several people have bought dozens of pieces of my pottery and I'm grateful. If you're new to my work, a bit about me: I'm a former journalist with my masters in journalism from Northwestern University. (I'm also a collegiate D-III All American soccer player, but most people don't know that unless my husband is bragging at a dinner party). I most recently worked for NPR as a digital producer but that was a long time ago.  My husband and I moved West and had babies and that's when I discovered pottery. I continued to write the occasional article, but I would fall asleep thinking about glaze combinations, and that's when I knew I was hooked. 

I bought my wheel in 2015. I started selling in 2016 (online). I did my first market in 2018. And my first juried art fair in 2019. We moved back East in 2023. And here I am, with my own website. With every firing I get better and I still know I have a lot to learn. Thank you for being here with me.
