Switching Away From Shop Updates
During the pandemic, I followed ceramicists' trends and I started to do monthly online updates. I got a thrill and was also amazed at how quickly everything sold -- I would hit publish and the items would be sold out in two minutes. I found it fun, but also extremely stressful. And I always felt bad when I got the message that said: "I missed out. Maybe I'll have luck next time." Things don't sell as fast as during that time, now that people are back in the office and can shop in real stores and markets. But they do sell within a day. But I still have found I want to get away from that frantic pace. I like the idea of having mugs on my site that people can discover and delight in. So I started publishing listings without telling anyone. Or telling my instagram hive they're there, now. It's working for me, for now. Thank you to everyone who has ever bought one of my pots. I'm still finding my way, having fun and learning about the craft.
